We couldn't come to Guilin without getting a photo of Lina eating Guilin Noodles, the traditional dish.
On our way home from the Li Rivier cruise, we got a tour of a silk shop including a description of how they make silk from the silk worm. It was interesting, but the best part was getting to see Lina's face when she saw the beautiful silk traditional Chinese dresses. She was doted over by at least 3 or 4 woman while about 8 others watched. They braided her hair and put on her new dress - she seemed to enjoy being the center of attention. So precious to see her get some really special treatment! She definitely is our little China Princess!
On this night (Wednesday night) Lina did better at going to sleep with less crying. She seems to have moved into a next stage of the transition process - we think she needs someone to be mad at for what has happened, and it seems that someone is Baba (Daddy). Lina has shunned him, refusing any physical contact, walking on the side of Mommy that is farthest from him, and refusing any help, food, or even candy if it is offered by Daddy rather than Mommy. Though not at all a surprise, this is a really difficult time for Daddy - pray that we can work through this quickly.

Lina looks beautiful in that pink, silk gown! Oh my! She really IS a princess, yes!!! I'm sorry to hear that poor Baba is getting the cold shoulder. I guess it will just take time for her to warm up to him. Otherwise, it looks like Lina is doing just awesome!
