On Sunday morning, we spent the morning walking around a beautiful fower garden. Lina was in a bad mood. We've been having to wake her up in the morning, so she is tired. Simon, our guide provided us with a stroller for the week which is a God-send for all the walking we have planned this week. It is very hot here and Lina won't let Daddy hold her yet. We try to get all our shopping and sightseeing done in the morning and spend most of the afternoon in the room or at the pool.

Kaylie -- "That's just like when I was in kindergarten and Mommy and Daddy had to wake me up. I didn't like that." Lina does take after her sister!!! Ali
Hi Matt and Sherri, this is Sarah (yes, the fellow Guilin mom), I'm cracking up over this post about the visit to the Botannical Garden. If you ever get the chance to go see my blog, specifially my time in China w/ Ava in September 2009, you'll laugh too. Because when we visited the garden that day, Ava was in a bad mood and didn't like me much that day. I snapped pictures of her anyway and she is sneering in all of them! Hang in there. Tell Matt that it's very common for a child from China to only go to 1 of the parents. When we came home and she met daddy, she left mommy in the dust! Then, she started trying to triangulate us (sat up front in the car and expected me to sit in the backseat; took my seat at the dinner table next to daddy) in very obvious ways. We had to tell her no and then daddy became the bad guy, thus starting her pattern of attach, detach, attach, detach all over again. She got thru it though. Within 2 months of being home, she started blossoming and becoming the happy, loving, adjusted, funny girl that she is today! -Sarah
